Over 50 years later, the history and legacy of the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party remain shrouded in mystery and controversy. How did this chapter become a powerful symbol of activism and social justice—and a prime target for the FBI? 

Leila Willis, Executive Director of the Historical Preservation Society of the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Society, joins us for an engaging discussion on why the Illinois Chapter’s story is still one of the most contentious and eye-opening narratives in American history, and to discover its lasting, often overlooked influence.
