Thatcher Glen supports remnant floodplain forest, oak woodland and mesic prairie, and is an island of nature in a strongly urban/suburban area. Help us restore community structure, control invasive species and enhance native vegetation. Learn about the local environment from dedicated Forest Preserve staff and partners. Gloves, tools and light refreshments provided.
No experience needed. All tools, gloves, supplies, and training are provided. You might use saws, loppers, pruning shears, trowels, shovels, rakes, and other hand tools (manual) to get the job done. Whether you’re passionate about conservation or just looking for a rewarding way to spend time outdoors, we’d love to have you on the team!
