Program Description

Event Details

For the first time ever, we are venturing into Forest Home Cemetery after dark for a Movie at the Mausoleum.

Join the Library, Historical Society of Forest Park, and the Park District of Forest Park to watch "Clue" on the steps of The Lehmann Mausoleum.

Enjoy a brief introduction to the history of why The Lehmann Mausoleum is empty and why Forest Park has so many cemeteries. Park behind the cemetery office at 863 Des Plaines Ave; signs and volunteers will guide you to the Lehmann Mausoleum.

Due to limited parking, we encourage attendees to bike, walk, or carpool.

If we need to cancel for weather, we will let you know by 3 pm on Friday.

Parking Information:

  • Location: Behind the cemetery office at 863 Des Plaines Ave once full on the road up to the Haymarket Monument.
  • Guidance: Signs and volunteers will direct you to the Lehmann Mausoleum.
  • Safety: Once it’s dark, please walk on the road to avoid tripping on gravestones.

Event Details:

  • Don't forget to bring a flashlight, lawn chair, and blanket. The ground where we will be sitting is gravel.
  • Introduction: We'll start with a brief history of why the Lehmann Mausoleum is empty and the significance of Forest Park's numerous cemeteries.
  • Concessions: Delicious offerings by Cool Treats Trucks will be available.
  • Note: This is an adult event.

Accessibility: The walk from the parking lot to the mausoleum may be a bit long for some. If you have any accessibility needs, please email us at askus@fppl.org by 9 am on Thursday, August 22 so we can make the necessary accommodations.

We look forward to seeing you there!
