Join us as we welcome author and historian Ann Durkin Keating as she talks about some of Chicago’s most notable historical events. As co-author of The Encyclopedia of Chicago and The World of Juliette Kinzie: Chicago Before the Fire, Keating will share her unique expertise on the story of Chicago.

 

 

This event will feature an interview with the author and also also include a Q and A session. Snacks will be provided.

Ann Durkin Keating is the C. Frederick Toenniges Professor of History at North Central College where she has taught since 1991.  She is the author of several books on Chicago history, including Rising Up From Indian Country: The Battle of Fort Dearborn and the Birth of Chicago (Chicago, 2012) and The World of Juliette Kinzie: Chicago Before the Fire (Chicago, 2019). She also served as co-editor of the Encyclopedia of Chicago (University of Chicago Press, 2004), a print and online (www.encyclopedia.chicagohistory.org) project.
